It is important to exercise our bodies, so we can stay healthy throughout life. With this in mind, we have a half hour of physical fitness for the youth twice a week to supplement our other activities.
This physical fitness time includes push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, foot race, and jump rope. As the youth do these exercises together they are learning life-long techniques to keep their bodies strong.
Our health education initiatives go way beyond simple lectures. We love giving the children hands-on activities-- whether that is a supervised cooking class, visiting the community orchard, or spending time in the garden weeding and harvesting fresh fruits or vegetables.
